Life is so much more fun when everything is alive. I resonate with this a ton, especially the part about us not knowing shit, how freeing that is, and how restrictive the 'trust the science' worldview can be. Reassuring to see others out there taking on similar stances. Also, had a little synchronicity here with the Glenn Gould mention, I'd just done a deep dive on him last night, having come across his name for the first time after reading it in 'Leave Society' by Tao Lin. Then I scroll Substack this morning and see this. Love it
Love this article Emma! When walking through a day and I can shift my perspective to the fact that reality is constantly touching me, seeing me, taking part in me (and then I choose for that to be reciprocal) the air lights up as if itβs made of fire, and I am curious about everything! I understand why the idea of βobjectivityβ is important, but thereβs no way to really know the soil without getting dirty. What is rain? Experience is wet.
Points for the truck, points for the story about the pianist who can only play with a certain bench that I immediately love, points for validating my relationship with the 4Runner, and points for fitting βluthierβ into a piece which is one of my favorite words to say out loud when I see it even though Iβm slightly worried I donβt say it right. Great performance overall. Good morning to you and please pass on a good morning to the Magnolia for me today
