a poem about salvation
it’s midnight the sun is shining i don’t think that’s strange at all fingertips dripping concrete aluminum running down my chin welcome to shimmering mirage a blacktop oasis kick off split boots open cracked palms drink me, wanderer i am not a trick of light i just wanted to breathe your air come closer, say thank you let the horizon lick your neck and taste what’s left of you the desert is awake your shadow is splitting time is pooling on the ceiling melting hieroglyphics do you remember me ? the way home is upside down stay here, keep drinking we are fever dream prophecy we evaporate slow and sweet i only exist when you do
